Srinagar, February 27 (KNO) : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai Wednesday urged both nuclear powers, India and Pakistan to shun war mongering. Sehrai in a statement issued to KNO said history is witness that nations even after fighting costly wars, have still to sit on a negotiating table to for a solution. “Peace loving Kashmiris are always against war and destruction. We are only asking for resolution of the dispute by peaceful and political means for which comprehensive and serious dialogue is the only way forward,” he said. Sehrai asserted that war and destruction is not the solution and only serious, sustained and meaningful dialogue can establish peace in Kashmir and the entire region. “History is testimony that simple and peace loving Kashmiri would never ever celebrate or rejoiced bloodshed. A political issue needs a political solution Further ,added that Kashmir is a political and humanitarian issue that needs a political and dignified solution, it a high time the leadership of both the countries to shun its stubbornness and take some concrete political measures to settle this decades old issue once for all to serve humanity which suffered immensely,” he said. He said unfortunately the world community, have overlooked this critically important human dimension of the issue which resulted in yet another confrontation between India and Pakistan. Sehrai said Kashmir issue has multiplied human tragedies and it was because of this lingering issue that millions of people were facing immense hardship and a state of uncertainty and instability was looming over the whole south Asian region. “Kashmir is a political issue that needs a political solution. The Indian policy for Kashmir has been only about managing dissent and engineering a legal annexation right from the inception. Therefore, it is high time for the international community to address the problem to stabilize the region for regional and global peace,” he said.(KNO)
